Volunteer Opportunities:

NECO has the following volunteer opportunities available:

    PANTRY:

  • One 4-Hour Shift Per Week - Assist incoming clients, following guidelines established for family size, using discernment regarding dietary needs, etc.
  • One 4-Hour Shift Per Week - Stock and straighten pantry shelves. Process incoming food donations, paying special attention to dates. Storing excess food in overflow area until needed by dates.

    THRIFT STORE:

  • 1 Day Per Week (2-6 Hour Shifts) - Price and stock incoming donations in the store. Assist donors with donation drop offs. Fill out tax donation forms. Clean and straighten store. Assist customers with out of reach items.
  • 1 Day Per Week (2-6 Hour Shifts) - Seasonal help to come and stock seasonal items into the Thrift Store. This is needed especially at Christmas.

    VICTORY GARDEN:

  • 1-2 Hours Per Week - Volunteer to come and work in our garden to help keep weeds out, plant as needed and water as needed

    OTHER:

  • Varied Hours - Help with seasonal programs like School Supplies and Christmas. Organizing, sorting and setting up supplies in a store type setting so that families may shop and pick out what they need.
  • Varied Hours - Someone to be available to do a variety of honey-dos around the Outreach facility. This could be from changing light bulbs to cleaning to small repair/remodel projects. Variety of skills always needed.
